THEMES
Self-Discovery & Growth
The characters must confront their inner flaws and confront deeper truths about themselves, which is a central theme in many YA stories. This reflects the personal growth that comes with facing difficult realities about who they are and how they relate to others.
Unity & Diversity
The characters come from different countries, which suggests themes of cross-cultural understanding and unity. Their journey will likely explore how differences can be both a source of tension and strength when they learn to collaborate.
The Power of Imagination & Creation
This film presents a mystical, imaginative space where the characters' creative abilities shape the world. It explores how imagination can be a tool for both creation and destruction, reflecting the balance between idealism and realism.
Struggle & Redemption
The idea that their creations begin to reflect the struggles and divisions of the real world hints at themes of conflict, the consequences of unchecked power, and the need for redemption. The characters' journey to unite and protect their fantasy world mirrors their path to overcoming their own flaws and finding a sense of peace.
Hope & Transformation
The return to reality with newfound hope suggests a theme of transformation. The characters’ experiences in the mystical space have changed them, enabling them to bring hope to a fractured world, which touches on the idea of how personal change can lead to social and global change.
TREATMENT
In a world filled with division, six teenagers—each from different corners of the globe—discover a mysterious symbol which only they appear to notice. Seth discovers it in an online game. Marina sees it graffitied on walls. Eva sees it in her dreams.
Unlocking the meaning of the symbol, the teenagers are unexpectedly pulled into a blank space, a vast void of white that seems to stretch endlessly. There they discover each other - and their ability to shape the space from their imagination. With no guidance or understanding of how they got there, they begin to experiment with their abilities, creating breath-taking realms that reflect their wildest fantasies.
At first, the group revels in the freedom of creation. Each realm they craft is an extension of their desires, fears, and dreams. One conjures a lush forest, another builds an elaborate city, while others create soaring mountains and vast oceans. However, as their creations grow more complex, the group soon realizes that their worlds are not as perfect as they seem. Hidden within the fabric of their imagined landscapes are reflections of their deepest flaws—unresolved conflicts, insecurities, and biases—manifesting as a dangerous and ever-growing enemy: the embodiment of their inner demons.
One of the teenagers threatens its neighbour, accusing them of encroaching on their territory. This fractures the group as they take sides - until a far greater danger rises, threatening to destroy everything.
Their only hope lies in unity. Despite their cultural differences and personal struggles, the group must come together to confront not just the threat to their fantasy world, but the personal barriers they have built in their hearts. Each member of the group must face their darkest truths, whether it be fear of failure, guilt from the past, or a deep-seated mistrust of others. Through these trials, they learn the power of collaboration and empathy.
As they unite their strengths, they discover that their enemies are not entirely external—they are manifestations of their own personal growth. By confronting their flaws, acknowledging their shared humanity, and learning to work together, the group reshapes their worlds and begins to restore balance. In doing so, they realize the ultimate truth: only by confronting their inner turmoil can they heal and create something truly powerful.
